How the Shore tours to Rome work?

One of our drivers along with his deluxe car/minivan/minibus/bus will be at the Rome Port at the time you say, normally from 07:00 am and 08:00 am and will transfer to Rome. In downtown you will meet myself, your private Rome Tour Guide and will start our full day tour of Rome with our private transportation throughout the day. Besides the itinerary chosen, at appx. 04:30 pm/05:00 pm, I will be dropping off in downtown and you, your party/your group will be back Civitavecchia Pier to get your ship. Normally, you will have appx. 10-11 hours your private driver and you will spend about 8 hours with myself.

2. To get an even more authentic taste of Rome, I may set up a menu in some of the local restaurants where the hordes of crowds and tourists don't go.

Our day will be entirely dedicated to the Vatican City State, the smallest country in the World.
We will visit the Vatican Museums with the Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, Raphael Rooms, and all the Vatican highlights, including the Museum Pio-Clementino, the Niccoline Chapel, the Vatican Painting Gallery, the Braccio Nuovo Museum, PLUS the Vatican Gardens, St. Peter's Basilica, the crypt of the Popes (the Grottoes) and St. Peter's Square. We will skip the lines to get into the Vatican Museums thanks to our credits znd VIP entrance.

Underground Rome & Vatican City

This shore excursion to Rome is perhaps more addressed to those travellers who already have been to Rome. In the morning, I thought to have a cruise tour dedicated to the "minor" sister of Ancient Rome, which has a great appeal: the Subterranean Rome. Under the endless vestiges of centuries, there is an underground Rome made up of houses, frescos, baths, villas, condominiums ... Apparently, they have less appeal than its "major sister", the Rome above the ground but in some cases whose artistic and achitectural quality is equal to that of the famous monuments above the ground.
In the afternoon we will visit St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, including also of the Grottoes of the Popes - in the underground level -.

Shore Excursion to the Etruscan Lands: Tarquinia, Tuscania, Vulci & Cerveteri

Our shore excursion will be dedicated to the most important pre-Roman civilization living in Lazio Region: the Etruscans. We will see the most important archaeological and Museums of the Etruscan civilization covering: Tarquinia, Tuscania, Vulci and Cerveteri. The great advantage of taking this shore excursion is that you will not have to waste appx. 3 hours drive to commute with the city of Rome (Rome Port to Rome downtown and return to Rome Civitavecchia). The Rome pier is located in fact about 15-20 minutes from the Etruscan lands.

We will leave Civitavecchia and drive by Monte Romano, Vetralla, stop in Viterbo for a insight of its marvellous Medieval Burg then onto Lake Vico, Ronciglione, Sutri, Lake Bracciano and its picturesque town & Castle, Ceri and then back to the Rome Port (Rome Civitavecchia).
